Vinous 89
Medium red. Currant, plum and mocha on the nose. Then nicely vinous in the mouth, with a rather serious underlying structure supporting the flavors of plum and chocolate. A bit stern but has good stuffing.

The Chatean Nenin 2005 is flamboyant and vivacious on the nose with red cherries, pomegranate, leather and a light marine influence. This let’s it all hang out there. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannin, quite animally in style, a little feral with an easy-going, slightly savoury finish. This is just beginning to drink now and should give 15 or 20 years of pleasure.

Some sandpaper notes on the nose and then good freshness of very sweet, rather gamey fruit. Masses of fine tannins are responsible for an inky finish but there is vitality here.
