Vinous 93
(50% vendange entier; 100% new oak): Medium red. Tighter on the nose than the 2014 version, offering scents of raspberry, bitter chocolate and peppery spices; this will go truffley with bottle age. Then surprisingly sweet but pungent in the mid-palate, combining a wonderfully silky texture with terrific floral tension. Boasts high-pitched citrus peel, blood orange and spice notes that excite the taste buds. Finishes with very fine-grained tannins and terrific grip and length. Near-grand cru quality here.
