Vinous 91-93
(30% vendange entier): Good dark red with ruby tones. Sexy nose combines black raspberry, smoky minerality, coffee and a whiff of animal fur; smells sweet! Then very ripe and fat in the mouth, with plush, almost syrupy red fruit flavors energized by a note of cherry pit. Still, this wine doesn’t offer quite the clarity or lift of the Bouchard vinification. Finishes with serious but ripe tannins. I find this a bit extreme for the year.
