The 2018 Barolo Garblèt Sue’ is a very hard wine to taste. It shows very little depth, a short, attenuated finish, little complexity and very few of the signatures of this Castiglione Falletto site.

Castiglione Falletto. Just mid crimson. Distinctive balsamic nose that is really holding back. Stony and brooding. Hints of marasca cherries. Slow to open up while suggesting quite a bit of power. Hints of fresh mint. Generous without being heavy. Succulent and concentrated and seductive and with a cool-climate edge. Seductive, long and with ripe chewy tannins. (WS)
