The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with black cherries, violet and raspberry fruit. It's elegant yet there is plenty of fruit that feels very Suchots. The palate is medium-bodied, not weighty and less powerful than its peers, but I can admire its tension and finesse, a rarer commodity in this vintage vis-a-vis others. Black pepper is judiciously sprinkled over the finish. This is a very fine Vosne-Romanée. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
