The 2020 Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru has a touch of cough candy on the nose, though it complements rather than defines the aromatics scene. There is plenty of red fruit here, well-defined with just a touch of reduction. The palate is medium-bodied with strict tannins, commendable tension and mineralité. This builds in the mouth without losing control, delivering plenty of sapid black fruit towards the finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
