Soaring from the glass with aromas of raspberries, cherries and blood orange mingled with nuances of peony, raw cocoa, cinnamon and cedar wood, Dujac's 2017 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru is full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, its deep core of elegantly concentrated fruit framed by supple and powdery tannins and underpinned by succulent acids. Long, perfumed and defined, this was showing very well indeed from bottle. (WK) (1/2020)
The 2017 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru is more expressive aromatically than the Clos de la Roche at the moment. The terroir is slightly better articulated, notes of crushed stone perfectly infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is precise and focused, almost symmetrical in style, and very expressive. The long, gorgeous, almost tart finish belies the structure of this Grand Cru. Superb.(NM) (1/2019)
